Now that the school year has ended, it’s time to give broken crayons a new life. We’ll melt old crayon pieces together to create multi-colored masterpieces in wacky shapes! Crayons will be provided, but feel free to bring any extras if you’d like. Children under the age of 8, please bring an adult to assist. The crayons will need to set over the weekend and can be picked up at I. R. Holmes Sr. Recreation Center the following week (7/27/26 – 7/31/26) during business hours.

Get your minds and bodies moving as a family! Join us for a fun nature hike for all ages. Each hike will have a different craft and theme for families to enjoy. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Registration is required for all participants.

The Inclusive Hiking Club is for everyone who loves nature and walking outdoors. We go on safe, fun hikes where all abilities are welcome. The club makes it easy to enjoy the outdoors, meet friends, and stay active

Adventure in nature with your preschooler at the park. We'll read a nature-themed book, then take a walk on the wild side to find the nature right outside our door. Children must be accompanied by a parent, and of course, wear boots or sneakers that can get a little dirty! Parents must accompany children. Pre-registration is required. Please note this program is weather dependent.

Embark on an outdoor adventure designed for curious kids. We’ll dive deeper into nature with hands-on activities, explore the park’s trails, and discover the wildlife and plants that call it home. In order to make online registration available we have updated the vendor application process. To apply to be a food vendor, please complete a Food Vendor Application beginning March 6, 2026. Click here to apply. Once the application is complete, click submit.
The application will be sent to the DPR staff member coordinating the event. DPR staff will review each application to confirm space is available as well as compare the food and beverage offerings listed on the application to ensure there is a balance of items for sale. Event staff will contact selected applicants to provide further instructions for payment of the vendor fees and others on their waitlist status.
All items being consumed by participants (whether it is beverages, food, desserts, frozen treats, ice cream, etc.) are considered to be a food vendor.
