About the event

Join us for an evening in the library as we listen to some live and local music.

It is sort of like Tiny Desk, but just in the library :)

Out of North Carolina, Leffty is an American band founded by drummer Joshua Davell Scott and vocalist Kingsley Priester. Blending modern alternative, R&B, and soul, the band creates a sound that feels atmospheric, intimate, and emotionally raw. Drawing inspiration from artists like Coldplay, The 1975, and Frank Ocean, Leffty lives in the space between vulnerability, groove, and introspection.

The name Leffty comes from the idea of embracing what makes you different. Like being left-handed - uncommon and sometimes misunderstood - the band believes that uniqueness isn't something to hide, but something to lean into.

Through each song, Leffty explores emotions that are often suppressed and stories that often go unspoken. Their music creates space for listeners to reconnect with themselves, sit with honesty, and ultimately feel again.
