About the event
Celebrate Durham Refugee Day with a Month of Powerful Film Screenings!
This June, we are honored to recognize Durham Refugee Day with three special community film screenings. Each event is crafted to uplift the journeys, voices, and contributions of our newest neighbors. Through these films, attendees will gain meaningful insight into why families leave their home countries, how they rebuild their lives here in Durham, and the traditions, skills, and strengths they bring to our shared community.
Each screening will feature a curated block of short films that highlight stories of resilience and reflect the lived experiences of refugees around the world. Screenings will be hosted at both the Durham County Main Library and Russell Memorial CME Church.
Whether you’re newly exploring these conversations or already engaged in refugee support efforts, we warmly invite you to join us. Come watch, reflect, and learn together as we honor the diverse stories that continue to shape the fabric of Durham.
We look forward to seeing you there!
