About the event

Unearth a Story is about finding something that is hidden away. Whether it’s a secret from the past, a long-forgotten place, a family story, or even something inspired by yourself. This summer, teens are invited to enter the Unearth a Story: Teen Creative Writing Contest! All you have to do is submit a piece of fiction that follows the guidelines below. Your piece can be stopped in magical realism, or it can be something that’s funny or emotional. It’s all up to you to unearth your story!

The first-place winner will be published on the Durham County Library website!
