Teen Art Contest: Unearth Your Story 2026 - SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY NOW!

About the event

Unleash your creativity and tell your story through art! Teens, 13-18, are invited to participate in our "Unearth Your Story" Art Contest, inspired by this year’s Summer Reading theme. Create an original piece that explores identity, history, imagination, or discovery.... what story will you uncover?

Pick up free art supplies (if needed and while they last), submit your masterpiece , and compete for exciting prizes. Your art will be on display on the Teen floor of Main Library. Community members will vote for their favorites, and winning artwork will be win four tickets to The Museum of Life and Science.

Submission Period: June 22 – June 30 Public Voting: July 5 – July 25 Winner Announced: July 27

When dropping off your artwork, please make sure to have your name, age, and contact info written on the back.

¡Da rienda suelta a tu creatividad y cuenta tu historia a través del arte! Jóvenes de 13 a 18 años están invitados a participar en nuestro concurso de arte “Descubre tu historia”, inspirado en el tema de Lectura de Verano de este año. Crea una obra original que explore la identidad, la historia, la imaginación o el descubrimiento… ¿qué historia vas a descubrir?

Recoge materiales de arte gratis (si los necesitas y hasta agotar existencias), envía tu obra maestra y compite por premios emocionantes. Tu arte será exhibido en el área juvenil de la Biblioteca Principal. Los miembros de la comunidad votarán por sus favoritos, y la obra ganadora recibirá cuatro entradas para el Museum of Life and Science.

Evening Family Storytime

Join us for an evening storytime filled with stories, songs, dancing, and coloring! All ages are welcome. All children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult. This storytime is presented by all of the Children's librarians at Main on a rotating basis. The schedule is typically: 1st Wednesday of the month: Tina 2nd Wednesday: Laurel 3rd Wednesday: Chloe 4th Wednesday: Miles 5th Wednesday: TBD

Family Voices / Voces de Familia

This program will have be a 6-week series for the whole family. Childcare available for children under five. Registration is highly encouraged through partners website. Sessions are held Wednesdays, September 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and October 7th and 14th at Stanford L.
